Product Detail
The reimagined 5150® Series Deluxe electric guitar is engineered for speed, comfort, and a full - throttle attitude. It combines throwback and modern features. Similar to its predecessor, the 5150 Deluxe Poplar Burl has a modified Strat® - style basswood body with a deeper upper body curve. The graphite - reinforced bolt - on quartersawn maple neck offers a comfortable modified “C” profile, a hand - rubbed satin urethane back finish, a heel - mount truss rod adjustment wheel, and a color - matched “hockey stick” headstock with an EVH® logo decal. The 12” - 16” compound radius ebony fingerboard, with 22 jumbo frets and cream dot inlays, ensures smooth and speedy playability. The original striped model had only a single humbucking bridge pickup, but the new 5150 Deluxe comes with an HH pickup configuration controlled by a three - way toggle. The custom EVH® Wolfgang® Alnico 2 humbucking bridge pickup provides the right amount of punch, articulation, sweet sustain, and thick rhythms in a balanced EQ curve. The EVH Wolfgang Alnico 2 humbucking neck pickup offers powerful overdrive and endless sustain, and clear cleans when the volume is lowered. A custom low - friction volume knob gives even - volume tapering for smooth volume swells, and the high - friction tone knob stays in place. There's also a new lower bout kill switch for stutter and rhythmic effects. The guitar is equipped with a “nave - bomb” certified EVH - branded top - mount Floyd Rose® bridge with fine tuners for each string and a patented EVH D - Tuna® for quick tuning changes. With a unique poplar burl top in Black Burst and all - chrome hardware including EVH - branded Gotoh® tuning machines, the 5150 Deluxe is a modern take on a classic. Using your EVH 5150 Series Deluxe electric guitar is a breeze. First, plug it into your amplifier using a standard instrument cable. Adjust the volume and tone knobs to get the sound you want. The three - way toggle switch allows you to choose between different pickup combinations: bridge pickup, both bridge and neck pickups, or just the neck pickup. The kill switch on the lower bout is great for creating stutter and rhythmic effects. When it comes to tuning, use the EVH - branded Gotoh® tuning machines. You can also quickly switch between drop - D and standard tuning with the EVH D - Tuna® on the bridge. For maintenance, keep your guitar clean. Wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove sweat and dirt. The hand - rubbed satin urethane neck finish is delicate, so avoid using harsh chemicals on it. Check the truss rod periodically with the 2.5 mm hex wrench to make sure the neck is properly adjusted. Keep the strings in good condition. When they start to sound dull or lose their intonation, replace them with new EVH® Nickel Plated Steel strings of the same gauge (.009 -.042). Store your guitar in a cool, dry place, and use the included tremolo arm and hex keys with care. If you have any problems, refer to the user manual that comes with the guitar.
