Using this Selmer mouthpiece kit is easy. First, attach the ligature to the mouthpiece. Make sure it's tightened just enough to hold the reed in place. Then, put the mouthpiece cap on when you're not using the mouthpiece to protect it. When playing, place the mouthpiece between your lips and blow gently to start producing sound. As for maintenance, clean the mouthpiece regularly with a soft brush and warm water. After cleaning, dry it thoroughly before storing it. Avoid dropping the mouthpiece or subjecting it to extreme temperatures as this can damage the plastic. Also, check the ligature periodically for any signs of wear and replace it if needed.
