Using your Selmer clarinet mouthpiece kit is easy. First, attach the ligature to the mouthpiece carefully. Then, put on the mouthpiece cap when you're not using it to protect the mouthpiece. When playing, place the reed on the mouthpiece and hold it firmly with the ligature. Make sure to use the right amount of pressure with your lips. As for maintenance, clean the mouthpiece and ligature regularly with a soft cloth. After each use, let the mouthpiece dry thoroughly before putting on the cap.
