The P-90 is a unique pickup. It's hotter and edgier than a regular single coil but not as powerful as an average humbucker. It has its own special character, sitting in that sweet spot between the two. It's one of the oldest pickup styles still in use today. We have a wide range of P-90s for different guitars and musical styles. The Antiquity models are super true to the originals. They have hand - made bobbins, the same wire and 'flatback' tape as the old ones. They use two special Dun - Aged ™ Alnico II magnets on a precision metal spacer and six fillister head pole pieces. You can get the Antiquity P - 90 in cream or black covers, or a 'Dog Ear' version with an aged thermoformed black cover, available for both neck and bridge. If you want an authentic vintage - style soapbar P - 90, the Vintage Soapbar SP90 - 1 is a great choice. It's a faithful copy of the 1946 Gibson® P - 90, wound with plain enamel wire on the same Leesona machine as the 1950s versions. It comes in neck or bridge models, with cream or black covers.
