In the late 1960s, Randall Smith, a famous amp repairman in the SF Bay Area, was deeply inspired by the '50s Tweed circuits of Leo Fender. He adored their natural sound, strong controls, and smooth transition from clean to overdrive. Standing on the shoulders of this great design, Smith created the first boutique guitar amp, the Boogie®. Now, after five decades, we pay tribute with the NEW CALIFORNIA TWEED™. This all - tube amp uses 4x6V6 power tubes and has a preamp with 5x12AX7 and 1x12AT7 preamp tubes. Our patented Incremental Multi - Watt™ power amp, with Duo - Class™ and Dyna - Watt™ technologies, offers five power levels, two operating classes, and three wiring options through a single 5 - Way Rotary Switch. Key features include a 4x Mesa 6V6 power tube type, 1 channel with two inputs (Normal Input for clean to overdrive and Low Input for clean), reverb, footswitchable reverb (footswitch and cable sold separately), a single 8 - Ohm Jensen Blackbird ALNICO speaker, an 8 - Ohm total load, and a weight of 49 Lbs. It's a 40 - Watt 4x6V6 Class A/B Pentode amp that sets a new standard for vintage tone.
Using this guitar amp is easy. First, connect your guitar to the input. You can choose between the Normal Input for a clean to overdrive sound or the Low Input for a clean sound. To control the power level, use the 5 - Way Rotary Switch. The reverb can be adjusted to add depth to your sound. If you want to control the reverb with a footswitch, you'll need to buy one separately and connect it. When it comes to maintenance, keep the amp in a dry and clean place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity. If you notice any strange noises or issues, turn off the amp and have it checked by a professional. Also, be careful when moving it because it weighs 49 Lbs. With proper use and care, this amp will give you great sounds for a long time.
