The Gretsch G5191BK Tim Armstrong Electromatic Hollow Body Electric Guitar is a powerhouse. Loud and fierce, it carries the signature of Rancid founder Tim Armstrong. Its bound single - cutaway hollow body, with parallel tone bar bracing, sound post, and bound f holes, produces huge tones. The one - piece maple neck has a white graphite nut and a bound rosewood fingerboard with acrylic block inlays. It features dual 'Black Top' Filter’Tron™ pickups with gold - plated bezels, a three - position pickup switch, and gold - plated hardware. The bound headstock has a pearloid Gretsch inlay and Armstrong’s signature on the truss rod cover. There's also a left - handed model available. Body details: Nashville® shape, laminated maple back, sides, and top with a matte urethane finish. Neck: 22 frets, jumbo frets, 12.5' radius fingerboard. Electronics: H/H pickup configuration. Hardware: Gold - plated, including Grover® tuners and an Adjusto - Matic™ bridge. Accessories include knurled strap retainer knobs and gold control knobs.
Using this Gretsch guitar is a breeze. First, tune it up using the Grover® tuners. You can choose different tones by using the three - position pickup switch. For a bright sound, select the bridge pickup (Position 1), for a balanced tone, use both bridge and neck pickups (Position 2), and for a warmer sound, go for the neck pickup (Position 3). Adjust the volume and tone controls according to your preference. When it comes to maintenance, keep it in a dry place. Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures or humidity as it can damage the wood and electronics. Wipe the guitar down with a soft cloth after each use to remove fingerprints and dirt. If you need to adjust the truss rod, do it carefully and in small increments. And always remember to check the string tension regularly and change the strings when they start to sound dull.
